Ones to Watch NYFW 2015

So as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow I thought I would share a couple of designers I think are ones to watch! There are of course the all time favourites Caroline Herrera, Anna Sui, Jenny Packham, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tory Burch and Donna Karan but these two designers have really caught my eye as ones to look out for!

Skingraft

"Skingraft was founded in Los Angeles, California in 2006 by brothers Jonny and Christopher Cota. Credited as a pioneer of the new American avant-garde, Skingraft’s roots in performance art-inspired fashion influence its seasonal collections, where music and its lifestyle-driven subcultures strongly inspire the cuts, colorways, and fabrication of the brand’s signature dark, body-conscious designs" (mbfashionweek.com)

To me these guys have that urban, street vibe going on. With their edgy bold prints and colours I think they are absolutely one to watch. I can see these prints taking over from the recent aztec designs that we have seen in the last few seasons.

Venexiana 

"Offering exquisite fabrics, focused tailoring and witty embellishments, Venexiana is the go-to fashion house for rock-n-roll haute couture. Launched in 2003 by designer Kati Stern, the collection is sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and other leading retailers around the world. Born and educated in Europe, Kati Stern is not only an acclaimed fashion designer; she is also a professional architect, a classically trained pianist and a passionate flamenco dancer" (mbfashionweek.com)

 These dresses have a simple aesthetic but this is made up for by the stunning fabrics that are used. I think these dresses are absolutely beautiful! I just need an occasion to wear one too!
