WineNdine app

BI am sooooo excited for this app! I love food! And it's being marketed at the 'Instagram of food' awesome!!!! With a few celebs already jumping on board (of course the Kardashian clan are already on the bandwagon) this app could really take off.

Post from Kloe K.

It's basically a way of sharing great food from restaurants showing us what amazing food we can get and where. Only downside right now is its still very new and mainly American resturants people are showing so we need more Brits getting on board I want to see what the UK has to offer!

Hints of red

Loving my hints of read today :) red bows, lips and nails 😘

Burberry A/W15 shot by Testino

Love that we are still feeling the 70s vibe more fringing and jewel colours for the Autumn season.

Classic Burberry trenches (I am dying to find my perfect one! I'm a little picky) with some 70s fringing on the scarfs love love love

The Law of Fashion

The first ever law degree focusing on the fashion industry has been created. This is such an amazing idea what fashion house wouldn't want a lawyer with a working knowledge of the fashion industry, having someone who really understands what's going on fighting in your corner, perfect.

They are currently only offering this degree at Fordham Law School in New York but I hope to see it rolled out much more widely. I know I would have been interested in this if it had been around when I started my degree!

Applications are being accepted as from today so any readers that are interested in this should definitely check it out!

Super skinny, super dangerous?

So today's big story is are out skinny jeans damaging us physically? A recent lady had a case of Compartment syndrome causin her calves to balloon in size and her feet to swell, meaning doctors had to cut off her skinny jeans. Now this just sounds like another one of those 'fashion' horror stories to me! It's like the old high heel debate, are we crippling ourselves or giving ourselves toned calves and better posture? Surely a normal person would pop on their skinnies and feel comfortable, why were something too tight? I know from experience I get a pinch round the zipper when I've over indulged but surely of the actual body of the jeans was to tight you wouldn't wear them? This is the first case I have seen of this (there may be more!) so I'm going to take this one with a pinch of salt I think! It's not putting me off wearing my skinnies just yet!

Grey

So like many women out there I also downloaded the new Fifty Shades Of Grey book as soon as it was available on Amazon. I only watched the film last week which actually I really enjoyed! And yes of course I have read the original books. Now while these aren't great literature they are nice easy reading with an injection of raunchiness.

Now I didn't have any preconceptions about this book except I was worried I would just be reading the same book again. And I hate to say it but that's exactly what it was! Yes it was from greys  perspective but tbh if you used ur imagination with the first book you already knew what he was thinking! I have to say I am disappointed I might have well have just read the first book again! Is E L James just a one trick pony? Could she not think of a new storyline so she had to regurgitate the old one? It's like a Mills & Boon novel all of them follow exactly the same pattern just stick in different character names! Oh well few hours of my life I won't be getting back!

Waist Training

Ok so I have jumped on the hype train and picked up a waist trainer (it's not any particular brand) I purchased mine off amazon for £10, it is boned which I believe is the main thing you need to look out for. I read that an unboned one won't have any effect will just pull you in like a pair of Spanx! Anyway it arrived a few days ago but I have been super manic and completely forgot! So today whilst sorting out the washing I came across it! So I thought let's give it a go!

For those who have read any previous posts I am a size 12-14 (depending on what shop I'm buying in!) and have a lovely mummy tummy thanks to my 15 month old. So I bought the corset in a L which they said was a 10-12. I popped it on this morning luckily I'm a dab hand with a hook and eye and for about an hour I wore it on the loosest set. After that hour I didn't really feel like I was wearing it so decided to step up to the next set. This is what I am on now and am going to stay on for today.

So far I am about 2 and a half hours in and all I can say is I am being forced to sit up straight (I am an awful sloucher) and I feel like I have a bit of a tummy ache. This could have nothing to do with the corset but more to do with the fact it's that time of the month and I haven't managed to eat anything today yet! A corset website I read this morning says it should feel like your corset is giving u a warm hug, well this is doing that! Thank goodness the weather is cooler today than it has been! I intend to wear the corset all day for a week pulling in to the next set around day 4. I was silly and haven't done any measurements (doh!) so I will take some in the morning and start from there assuming not a lot would happen in the first day.

Love this outfit!

My new amazing sneakers arrived a few days ago (I refuse to call them trainers because it is just not a cool enough word to describe them!) and as much as I have always been a little against the sport luxe movement these amazing shows have made me fully embrace it!

Jeans: New Look
Necklace:New Look
Shoes: Adidas Orginals

Today I'm wearing

Dress: H&M
Jacket: DKNY Jeans
Jewellery: Dorothy Perkins and Tiffany
Sandals: Palmaira

Only out to do the shopping but who says you don't have to make a little effort!

New room new start :)

So I haven't been blogging for a while because I have been so busy! I have been having a spring overhaul of my home. First stop, the front room. I moved in just before i had my little pirate so as any new mum will tell you decorating (other than the nursery!) was not a priority! The whole room was brown! Brown sofa, brown carpet etc etc. now finally I have put my own stamp on the place which means lots of colour!!! As you can see from the pic my sofa is a patchwork Chesterfield and I am in love! It's called Anne Scholl even the name sounds cool! New grey/silver carpet and lots lots lots of multicolour cushions! There is an eclectic feel of colour travel and serenity with my Moroccan lamp, tribal dude and my Thai Buddhas! It is totally me! A mix of all things and I love it :) next room up the bedroom.......

Struggling!

Like so many women I struggle with my weight! Now I am not a big size I admit that and most people would not in anyway consider me over weight. But I personally feel that it doesn't matter how other people see you if you don't feel good about yourself.

My current basic stats are as follows

Dress size: 12
Height: 5ft5
Weight in lbs: 150

I can't give my measurements as I don't have a tape measure!

Pre baby (he is now 15months old!) I was a size 10 and weighed 130lbs and ideally that is what I want to get back to! Now i am not making any excuses for my low motivation however I do suffer with awful migraines which have got worse since I had a car accident a year ago, as in the car accident I damaged my back and fractured my collar bone. Everything is now healed and fine but as I had a traumatic labour to my poor body has taken a massive battering in the last 15 months!

The steps I am taking to try and shift my mummy belly are as follows;

Less carbs (I am a carbaholic! So this is very hard for me but I have found courgette noodles a god send!)

Less junk food

More exercise

Now all of that seems very easy but with a very demanding little man and being his sole carer time is a big issue! I know everyone who is into fitness and clean eating says there is always time well I disagree! I already prep food where possible, that just something I think a lot of mums do, but not everything can be made in advance and when you have a nearly toddler who has very clingy days and won't let you leave the room without crying you make the quickest thing possible (usually toast or a packet of crisps!) so all I can do and have been trying to do is my best! Eating as healthy as I can and continuing to prep, but if I do have a day where I grab a bag of crisps I am not going to beat myself up over it!

Now exercise, I love the gym but it means someone else has to be watching my child (no local gyms provide crèches which really really sucks!) it's all well and good saying take him for a walk in his pram, that's great if he was happy to stay in it! Oh no we like to walk now we can and let's be honest when a walk around the block takes 40 minutes on its own at the pace of a snail it's really really not productive! I also find trying to do a work out at home impossible! Trying to do press ups while ur child is climbing on your head is motivation killing! If he would just stay still long enough I would use him as a weight but no chance of that happening!

So all I'm trying to say is that of like me you are trying to loose weight but congrats up against lots and lots and lots and lots of obstacles keep going! I know it's hard but if I can keep trying anyone can!

Another carb free day!

Well today I am going for day 2 of no carbs! I completed on Monday and to my surprise lost 3lbs just from not having carbs with my meals or as snacks! (I snacked on cheese and fruit!) not the lowest fat foods as that wasn't the aim it was just to see if I could stop the carbs!

So as I did so well I am going for round two today! I didn't take a pic of breakfast but I had one egg omelet with two mushrooms and a sneaky slice of bacon cooked in the microwave so it's literally a crisp! (I am primarily a veggie however my one weakness is bacon like so many and do allow an indulge now and again!)

So I haven't 'planned/prepped' my meals like I did on Monday so I'm hoping this doesn't throw me off! But in my mind at the moment I am thinking courgette spaghetti with chilli pesto for lunch and I have a pre prepared veggie chilli mix in the freezer for dinner! This may change! But let's see how it goes!

Soho Style

My friend Sarah was out in London recently when she saw someone she just had to get a snap of! And with her permission I had to steal it! This outfit is fab-u-lous! Very Westwoodesque with a touch of dominatrix in those amazing boots! (I now want a pair very badly!)

The streets of London are a great place to see interesting people, places, style and fashion and I must say it's been a while since I was in town think I need to make a little trip up! Preferably sans child!  Lol

Carb Free Monday Dinner

So as my final meal of the day I had an awesome lasagne made using sheets of courgette instead of pasta! Can honestly say yet again I didn't miss the pasta! This was a meal I prepared in advance and had frozen in an individual portion. It's literally your normal veggie lasagne recipe other that substituting the pasta of course!

Now I have to say I am unbelievably proud of myself this is the first day in at least 20years where no carbs have entered my mouth! Go me! I wasn't planning on a carb free day tomorrow but as I have been researching recipes I am going to try and do two days or at least make it as low carb as I can!

Is it really worth it?

Now every fashion girl would like to own a Hermes Birkin bag wether they will admit it or not! This bag has been the 'IT' bag of high end celebs for some time now!

Well the above bag has just been sold for the highest price so far! £150,000!!! Now as us mear humans know that's a 2 bed house in a nice quiet area! And if I'm honest I just can't get my head around spending that much on one bag! I appreciate the gold and diamonds but I'd never want to let it out of a safe! Let along the house! So my question is, is it really worth it?

Carb Free Monday lunch

All I can say is yum!

Satay veggie noodles - spiralized courgette/zucchini with some mushrooms, broccoli and celery, in homemade satay sauce (peanut butter, coconut cream, soy, ginger and chilli) topped with some extra fresh chilli, spring onion and corriandum (like coriander but grows better in our lovely weather! Lol)

Now I am a carbaholic and feel that every meal needs bread/pasta/potatoes etc and I can honestly say that this was amazing didn't miss proper noodles at all with the courgette ones instead! Deff found a winner here!

Carb free Monday

Ok so I have majorly over indulged this weekend! Finishing off last night with chocolate eclairs and my favourite lindor lint chocolates! So today I am giving the old belly a little rest and doing a carb free day! So far for breakfast I have made a 2 egg frittata with lots of yummy veg! (Mushrooms, asparagus, onion and a tiny bit of sweet corn as it does contain carbs!)

When I say carb free I mean cutting out brea, pasta, rice and potatoes etc! Not veggies with carbohydrates in them although I will limit what I have of those!

Will keep you all posted how I do and what yummy treats I think up for lunch and dinner :)
